Such an iconic name in the RV industry was an obvious choice for our dealership. We’re proud to have these classic travel trailers on our lot.
History of Coachmen RV
Coachmen has been manufacturing RVs since 1964, which easily makes them one of the oldest big-name camper brands still on the market today. The company was founded in Middlebury, Indiana, by the Corson brothers: Tom, Keith and Claude.

The first Coachmen RV products were manufactured in a modest 5,000 square foot plant. In their first year, Coachmen produced just 12 travel trailers, one truck camper and 80 truck caps. All these years later, the number of Coachmen-produced products has reached over half a million!
In 2008, Coachmen RV became a Forest River, Inc. product. The brand is still headquartered in Middlebury, Indiana. Though, it’s modest production facility now spans over 220 acres in Indiana, along with a 90-acre facility in Centerville, Michigan. Today, motorhomes and towable RVs of nearly all types carry the Coachmen logo.

The legacy of Coachmen RV now includes Class A, Class B and Class C motorhomes, as well as a variety of travel trailers and fifth wheels. The brand is known for durable, reliable campers. They focus on dependable designs that will last season after season, as well as practical innovations to make your travels easier. Coachmen strives to maintain simple, user-friendly technology in each of their models.

Northern Spirit Ultra Lite
While the Northern Spirit travel trailer is a Coachmen RV classic model, it’s filled with modern features and amenities. The “camping simplified” motto for the Northern Spirit reflects Coachmen’s goal to make travel trailers that streamline your camping experience. This includes features like motion-activated floor lights, the “Twice Cool” dual ducted air conditioning system, wireless phone chargers, a built-in bottle opener and more.

These models were developed with every family member in mind: including four-legged travelers. All models include an exterior dog leash clip – another way to keep camping simplified Some Northern Spirit Ultra Lite models also include a Pet Center! The Pet Center is a storage cabinet with sliding pet food bowls. You can store toys, leashes and extra food inside the cabinet. And, when mealtime is over, you can simply close the food bowl drawer and have your floor space back!

Northern Spirit XTR
Campers who need extra storage space or an extra lightweight camper will love the Coachmen Northern Spirit XTR. The XTR is the first travel trailer to use a Max Bed Storage System. This storage system raises your bed to allow for added under-bed storage. The Max Bed Storage System includes three oversized drawers, shoe storage, a padded bench seat, six versatile openings, a Laundry Center and a bedding storage section for blankets and pillows.
