Winter’s here, and for some that means it’s time to winterize your RV and store it until Spring. Or, you can escape the bitter cold by taking your RV down to sunny Florida! While you could make the trip to Disney and spend the winter waiting in line for rides and shows, you could also drive a few more hours south and explore some of the beaches and laid-back lifestyle of South Florida!

Ft. Lauderdale

Ft. Lauderdale is an excellent location to take your RV, you can visit locations such as Paradise Island RV Resort, Yacht Haven Park and Marina, or Sunshine Holiday MHCC RV and Camping. In Ft. Lauderdale you can shop at some of the biggest and best malls in the country, such as Aventura Mall or Sawgrass Mills. You can even catch the Florida Panthers play hockey at the Bank United Center in Sunrise. Of course, there are more beaches than you can count all along the east coast, Lighthouse Point and Delray Beach are a few of our favorites.

Miami

Over the years, Miami has earned the reputation as a place for sleepless nights and limitless culture. Sure, you can spend time on South Beach, but we’d also like to point out some of the other great attractions the city has to offer. You can kayak and snorkel at John Pennekamp Park, camp out in the Everglades, explore the local art scene in Wynwood, or eat at legendary (and cheap) restaurants like Versailles and Palacio De Los Jugos.

The Keys

The Keys are a string of islands from the tip of the Florida Peninsula starting with Key Largo and extend out towards Cuba, the last Key being Key West. One of our favorite Keys is Islamorada where you can camp on the beach, dive into the ocean and explore the beautiful coral reefs, and swim alongside dolphins, turtles, and thousands of local fish.

Of course, before you make any kind of road trip in your RV make sure it’s serviced and prepared by the technicians at Crossroads Trailer Sales!
