Featured Unit: 2017 CrossRoads Altitude 228 Toy Hauler

Load up your off-road toys and pack in the weekend fun with the solid and affordable 2017 CrossRoads Altitude 228 toy hauler.

Part of CrossRoads SL line, the Altitude 228 answers the call to “action camping” with this model that packs tremendous value in a compact, yet flexible package, ready-made for family fun. At just an inch over 25 feet and weighing in at just 4,495 pounds, the Altitude 228 is light and nimble enough to tow with ease.

The SL line of Altitude toy haulers is designed with ease of use and functional comfort in mind, from the rear garage space to the private front bedroom. Despite its compact size, the Altitude 228 boasts room for off-road toys, family and all your camping necessities. Affordability and flexibility make the Altitude 228 the perfect entry to the action camping highway.

The Altitude 228 makes the most of its compact space. You can carry off-road vehicles to your destination in covered safety in the toy hauler’s rear garage. The garage space is open to the living area, creating a flexible and functional family space once the toys are out and ready to roll. The easy-to-maintain, durable wood grain linoleum throughout the unit make the transition from garage to dining room or bedroom a snap.altitude4

Enter through the 30-inch main door  into the open area of the unit. To the left, in the multi-functional garage area is a wood grain entertainment center – with an included stereo system – ready to hold a 30-inch LED TV. There’s also a spacious cabinet overhead.

Across the unit is a sofa that folds up while off-road vehicles are sharing the space. When it’s time for dinner the sofa folds down to create ample seating for a sturdy fold-down indoor-outdoor table. At bedtime, clear out the table and fold down the sofa to create double bed sleeping for the kids or guests. Stow beach towels, pillows and bedding securely in the overhead cargo loft above the sofa.altitude2

Store your non-perishable food supplies in the generous floor to ceiling pantry across from the kitchen area. Turn around to find a kitchen large enough to cook for a hungry crowd of off-roaders. The Altitude 228 comes equipped with a 3-burner range, hood with light and exhaust fan, microwave and built-in 6-cubic feet refrigerator and freezer. If baking is your passion, add in the optional oven.

The raised panel upper and lower cabinets and steel ball bearing drawer glides provide enough storage for dishes and cooking gear while a double aluminum sink and high rise faucet makes cleaning up a breeze.altitude5

The side hallway full-featured bathroom includes a large parchment lavatory bowl set in a wood grain cabinet. The spacious shower/tub combo has an easy-to-clean one-piece surround and a curved track shower curtain. A mirrored, wood-framed medicine cabinet provides even more storage. A matching bisque porcelain foot flush toilet completes the bathroom.

Continue down the hallway to a front bedroom private retreat. A 60-inch by 74-inch mattress is the centerpiece – with a popular upgrade to a Denver Supreme Mattress available. The bed is flanked by two convenient wardrobes and side tables. The front room retreat is wired for a cable TV hook up.altitude6

Coordinated valances and durable mini-blinds throughout the Altitude 228 are included. Choose from three design options for your action camper, the dusky grays and neutrals of “Twilight,” the blues, browns and tans of “Solar” or the calming neutrals of “Galaxy.”

Keeping it simple doesn’t mean skipping out on quality and safety as CrossRoads adds on an electric awning with LED light strip, 30-inch main entry door with strut assist, Secure Seal slide system, marine grade exterior speakers, quick recovery water heaters and a painted metal exterior shell.altitude8

Since 1996 CrossRoads has dedicated itself to offering RVers value by including more standards than options, and more quality for an affordable price. If action camping is calling, visit the RV experts at Crossroads Trailer Sales to tour the Altitude 228 in person.
