About KZ RV
KZ RV, Inc. was established in 1972 as a subsidiary of THOR Industries, Inc. For over 50 years, the manufacturer has been headquartered in Shipshewana, Indiana. While the first KZ RV was a truck camper, KZ now specializes exclusively in towable RVs. You can find travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers by KZ.

At the start, KZ only had two employees, who designed and built that first truck camper. None other than Daryl Zook and his uncle/partner Sam King! Their initials, of course, created the name KZ. The company built their first travel trailer in 1974, and have expanded in models and types ever since. KZ RV was acquired by THOR in early 2014. Now, the company employs over 600 people and spans 530,000 square feet to manufacture over 150 RV floor plans.

Towable RVs from KZ
Sportsmen Classic
The KZ RV Sportsmen line was the first travel trailer line by the manufacturer. Although, in 1974, it was called “Sportsmen’s,” the heart of this model has stayed true. You can find the newest models of the super lightweight Sportsmen Classic on the lot at Crossroads Trailer Sales. This classic customer favorite model has the standard features you need while ranging from 2,350 to 3,520 lbs. in weight and 16′ 9″ to 22′ 2″ in length.
The lightness of this line by KZ makes them easy to tow with most SUVs. Standard features include a 3/8″ fully walkable roof, a Dicor Tufflex PVC roof membrane with a lifetime warranty, 4 scissor-style stabilizer jacks, a spacious shower and more. Connect & Connect SE
Another popular travel trailer line from KZ is the Connect, which includes the lighter Connect SE. The Connect line is known as a modern, sleek trailer that’s easy to tow and touts an affordable price tag.

The classic Connect’s key features include an exterior docking station, solar roof prep, a OneControl monitor/switch panel, 82″ interior ceiling height and more. The Connect SE also includes the exterior docking station and OneControl Monitor, as well as Lamilux exterior fiberglass with a UVA and UVB resistant gelcoat, and a Tufflex roof with a lifetime warranty. Both models have an optional off-grid solar package. This package includes two 110W flexible solar panels, a 30A MPPT solar charge controller and a 1,200W pure sine wave inverter.

Escape
The Escape is the last line of travel trailers offered by KZ, and the last of their trailers carried at Crossroads. The key features include a 3/8″ fully walkable roof, an automotive style front window, a 13.5 BTU roof mounted A/C, a Dicor Tufflex PVC roof membrane, and an optional Off-Grid/Off-Road Package.

Most models include an award-winning Hatch vertical door. These rear doors provide an open, screened-in living space. You can let the fresh air and sunlight in the back of your camper without worrying about bugs getting in or pets getting out.

Durango Gold & Durango Half-Ton
In addition to travel trailers and toy haulers, KZ offers a line of luxury fifth wheels. At Crossroads, we carry all three of the KZ Durango fifth wheel model lines. We have the lightweight half-tons, the classic Durango models, and the full-timer-focused Durango Gold.

KZ has Durango models for full-timers and seasonal campers. Their half-ton models range from 7,260 to 9,660 lbs. in weight without sacrificing comfort. The modern interiors on these half-ton fifth wheels offer farmhouse style cabinetry and a redesigned front bedroom with a 60 x 80 queen bed for comfort and style.
On the other end, the luxury Durango Gold models range from 11,650 to 13,990 lbs. The key features include a 40,000 BTU furnace, a 30″ convection microwave, a 24″ oven with a four-burner range, an electric tilt bed with Serta Comfort Foam king mattress, and more.
