Winter up north often means that it’s time for a southern vacation. That’s especially true for snowbird RVers who spend the entire winter season in the warm weather of the southeastern US. These are some of the most highly-rated and well-loved seasonal RV campgrounds for New Jersey and New York residents to shelter in when the snow comes.

Winter Seasonal RV Campgrounds

Boyd’s Key West Campground

Key West, Florida

You can spend the winter parked by the blue waters of Key West at Boyd’s Key West Campground. There’s plenty to do at the campground including a snack at the poolside tiki hut, a kayak or paddle board rental trip, a game room for indoor entertainment and cookouts at the camp pavilion. And, of course, there’s tons to do outside of the campground in the city of Key West.

Cloudland Canyon State Park

Rising Fawn, Georgia

Discover the beauty of northern Georgia in both bold fall colors and white winter snow. While snow is likely to fall in this part of Georgia, just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee, it’s a light coating compared to what’s found up north. Cloudland Canyon State Park is located on the edge of Lookout Mountain and includes seasonal caving opportunities, as well as biking, fishing, geocaching, hiking and horseback riding. You can rent RV sites or cabins year-round and enjoy beautiful views of the Appalachians all winter, which puts it on our list of seasonal RV campgrounds.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort

Brunswick, Georgia

Just a few miles inland from Jekyll Island is the Coastal Georgia RV Resort. This year-round RV park is a great place to spend the winter as it’s just north of the Florida-Georgia line and is not likely to see snow. There’s an on-site lake where fishing is always an option, as well as a game room, sports courts, a swimming pool and a store with all the RV supplies you’ll need. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of entertainment in Brunswick, from shopping and bars to historic sites and ghost tours. And, of course, there’s always the short drive to the Atlantic Ocean.

Denton Ferry RV Park and Resort

Cotter, Arkansas

The Denton Ferry RV Park and Resort is another one of the best seasonal RV campgrounds. It’s located along the White River near the Missouri border. They offer waterfront sites and boast some of the best trout fishing around with camp fishing and boating excursions. The park is conveniently close to a variety of Arkansas destinations like Eureka Springs, Mountain View and Norfolk, so you’ll have plenty of new places to visit over the winter.

Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort

Hilton Head, South Carolina

Enjoy the beauty of Hilton Head without the peak-season crowds at the Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort. Though summer is the busiest time of year, you can reserve long-term stays for discounted rates between October and February. The park has watersports and a marina, so fishing is always an option. Additionally, there are two swimming pools, a hot tub, a playground, tennis courts and two camp stores with all the RV and boating supplies you’ll need. Try out the five-star campground restaurant or check out some of the best attractions the city of Hilton Head has to offer.
